IndiGo Launches New Vijayawada-Varanasi-Kolkata Flight
IndiGo has launched a new Vijayawada-Varanasi-Kolkata flight, with Union civil aviation minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu attending the launch virtually.
IndiGo on Thursday launched flight operations on the Vijayawada-Varanasi-Kolkata sector from Vijayawada International Airport.
Union minister for civil aviation K. Ram Mohan Naidu virtually attended the launch and congratulated IndiGo on establishing the new connection. He said the airport would soon be connected to additional domestic and international destinations, including Pune, Ahmedabad and Cochin.
He also announced the upcoming launch of hub and spoke operations, under which Vijayawada airport would serve as a spoke to major international hub airports. Passengers would benefit from completing customs and immigration formalities at Vijayawada before transferring flights at the hub, he said.
MPs Kesineni Sivanath and Vallabhaneni Balashowry, MLA Yarlagadda Venkata Rao and others were present.
