INCOIS Signs MoU with VU and ATPL to Promote Joint Research
The tripartite agreement aims to promote collaboration in ocean sciences, satellite technology, marine research and sustainable use of ocean resources.

The Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS), Vignan’s University and Hyderabad-based Ananth Technologies Private Limited (ATPL) have signed a tripartite MoU to promote joint research in ocean sciences, space technology and the blue economy.
Vignan’s University vice-chancellor Prof. K.V. Krishna Kishore said the partnership would strengthen academic, scientific and industrial cooperation in marine research, satellite data analysis and environmental protection. University chancellor and Ananth Technologies chairman Dr Pavuluri Subba Rao and INCOIS director Dr Balakrishna Nair signed the agreement. Union Ministry of Earth Sciences secretary Dr Tummala Srinivasa Kumar attended as the chief guest.
The collaboration will cover marine resource management, ocean-based green energy, fisheries, satellite oceanography, remote sensing, GIS and environmental impact assessment. Research using satellite and real-time ocean data will help identify potential fishing zones, study fish stocks, map breeding grounds and locate seasonal fishing areas. Sustainable marine resource utilisation and climate-resilient ecosystems will also be studied.
The MoU provides for exchange programmes for students, scientists and faculty, joint research, field experiments, training and academic courses. It also envisages awareness programmes and pilot demonstrations for fishermen, fish processors, cooperatives and industry stakeholders.
