Housing for All: AP Issues Guidelines for Allotment of House Sites

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government has issued guidelines for the allotment of house sites under its flagship Housing for All programme. The scheme involves allocation of three cents in rural and two cents in urban areas across the state.
Revenue special chief secretary RP Sisodia issued an order to this effect here on Monday.
It said the government aims to provide house site pastas to the homeless poor in rural and urban areas to facilitate construction of pucca houses. The state will execute a conveyance deed for the house site; conveying the approval of freehold rights in future. The beneficiary can avail of the facility only once in his/her lifetime.
Each beneficiary will have to construct the house within two years from the date of grant of the house site patta/execution of conveyance deed/ sanction of house.
Plots shall be linked with Aadhar/Ration cards so as to avoid duplication of beneficiaries. The database shall be maintained for future scrutiny.
As for eligibility, the beneficiary shall belong to the BPL category household having a white ration card. The beneficiary shall not have an own house/house site anywhere in AP. The beneficiary shall not be eligible for issue of house site patta, if he or she has been auctioned or issued a house site patta earlier under any of the schemes of AP or the Centre.
The allotment will be cancelled if the beneficiary has not constructed the house within two years.
A nine-member state-level committee to monitor the implementation of the programme has been constituted. This will be headed by the revenue minister as chairman and an additional CCLA as the convener.
A six-member state-level committee for inter-departmental coordination would be constituted with revenue special chief secretary as its chairman and additional CCLA as member convener.
A 12-member district-level committee would be constituted to monitor implementation of the programme, with the in-charge minister of the district as its chairman, collector as the co-chairman and joint collector as the convener.
