VIJAYAWADA: A hoax bomb scare at two places in the city caused a flutter with police and bomb disposal squads carrying out search operations only to find no bomb here on Saturday.
The city police control room received an anonymous call claiming that a bomb was placed in the LIC building located at Basant Road. The police pressed the bomb disposal squad and carried out a massive search in the building and also in the shops and found the bomb scare to be fake.
Similarly, another call was received at the police control room claiming that a bomb was placed at the railway station, forcing the police and the bomb disposal squad to rush there to carry out a search operation in the entire premises of the railway station only to find no bomb. With this, both the people and the police heaved a sigh of relief.
