High Court CJ Asks People to Rededicate Themselves for Development of AP

The Chief Justice hoisted the Tricolour on the High Court premises at Nelapadu in Guntur district on Friday as part of the Independence Day celebrations.

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh High Court Chief Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur called upon people of AP to rededicate themselves for the development of the state following the footsteps of freedom fighters, who sacrificed their lives raising slogans of Swaraj and Self-Rule while fighting against the colonial rule.

The Chief Justice hoisted the Tricolour on the High Court premises at Nelapadu in Guntur district on Friday as part of the Independence Day celebrations. Addressing the legal fraternity on the occasion, he underscored the need to pay rich tributes to great personalities who made sacrifices to gain independence. He said at the same time, we should always be grateful to the armed forces for guarding the nation and protecting its unity and integrity.

Referring to the legal system in a democratic set up, he said it is playing a key role in resolving a series of issues cropping up in the society, including inter-state disputes. He maintained that the Indian judiciary is making all out efforts to ensure that people in the country get equal justice, equality, liberty and freedom.

Dhiraj Singh Thakur asked people to reiterate their commitment to build a strong, united and progressive India, so that it could dart ahead to become a major power in the world.

On the day, AP Legislative Council chairman Koyye Moshenu Raju hoisted the national flag and underscored the importance of education to all to help eliminate economic inequalities in the society.

He said despite completion of 79 years since Independence, economic inequalities are glaring in the society. He felt this could be removed by giving full access to educational and medical facilities to all.

“It is the responsibility of the government to ensure that such services are available to every citizen in the state,” Moshenu Raju underlined. Referring to the unity in diversity within the country, he wanted all Indian citizens given equal opportunities regardless of caste, religion and region.

AP BJP chief P.V.N. Madhav raised the national flag at the party headquarters to mark the occasion. He underlined that India got independence with the sacrifices of several lakhs of people. He laid stress on remembering all those who lost their lives during the freedom struggle.

The state BJP chief deplored the way India had been divided along communal lines. He appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for withstanding all challenges and bringing a great reputation for India in the world.
