Heavy Rain Likely Across AP Till June 26

Visakhapatnam: The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Amaravati, has forecast heavy rainfall at isolated places across Andhra Pradesh until June 26 under the influence of prevailing weather systems.
According to the IMD, an upper-air cyclonic circulation lies over Rayalaseema and adjoining areas between 3.1 km and 4.5 km above mean sea level. A trough extending from Jharkhand to Coastal Andhra Pradesh now runs from north Chhattisgarh to Telangana at 0.9 km above mean sea level.
Under the influence of these systems, heavy rain is likely at isolated places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema during the next few days.
The IMD has also forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning at isolated places across Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema. Gusty winds with speeds of 50-60 kmph are likely at isolated locations.
Hot and humid weather conditions are also expected at isolated places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, the weather agency said.
