Visakhapatnam: Moderate to heavy rain lashed several parts of Andhra Pradesh on Saturday, with Kukunoor in Eluru district recording the highest rainfall of 9 cm.

Station Road, One Town, Beach Road and parts of MVP Colony were waterlogged following the downpour.
The Meteorological Centre at Amaravati said an upper-air cyclonic circulation persists over the west-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining south Coastal Andhra Pradesh at 5.8 km above mean sea level.
Under its influence, heavy rain is likely at isolated places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds of 40-50 kmph are also likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema during the next two to three days.
During the 24 hours ending at 8.30 a.m. on Saturday, Kukunoor received 9 cm of rainfall, followed by 7 cm each at Kaikalur in Eluru district and Machilipatnam in Krishna district. Bhimadole recorded 6 cm, Gudivada and Chodavaram 5 cm each, while Tanuku, Peapully and Owk recorded 4 cm each.
