Heavy Rain Forecast for Next 2 Days in AP
The existing low-pressure area over Gangetic West Bengal and the neighborhood persisted over the same region

Visakhapatnam: A fresh low-pressure area is likely to form over the northwest Bay of Bengal off the Odisha-West Bengal coasts on Monday. Due to this phenomenon, the Andhra Pradesh and Yanam are going to witness heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorm and lightening for the next two days, according to the IMD forecast.
The existing low-pressure area over Gangetic West Bengal and the neighborhood persisted over the same region. The associated upper air cyclonic circulation extended upto 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height. It is likely to move west northwestwards across Jharkhand during the next 24 hours and weaken gradually thereafter, according to IMD, Amaravati.
Strong winds with speed of 30-40 kmph likely at isolated places over north and south coastal AP, Yanam and Rayalaseema on Monday and Tuesday. From August 27 onwards, thunderstorm accompanied with lightening likely over the region with strong winds at 30-40 kmph.
AP Disaster Management Authority said due to the fresh low pressure area over north Bay of Bengal, heavy rains might occur over Srikakulam, Parvathipuram Manyam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts on Monday and Tuesday.
