Vijayawada: Health minister Satya Kumar Yadav emphasised the need for district coordinators of health services (DCHS) in government hospitals to reduce the number of Caesarean (C-section) deliveries and promote natural births.
The minister inaugurated a four-day DCHS orientation training programme conducted by the Directorate of Secondary Health on Tuesday. He also launched a new comprehensive health application developed by the directorate.
Addressing the gathering, the minister urged DCHS officials to coordinate efforts to bring meaningful change in government healthcare delivery. He called for healthy competition among coordinators to improve public health infrastructure and urged them to visit grassroots-level facilities to understand the quality of services provided to rural patients.
He warned that any negligence or absence from duty would not be tolerated and advised health personnel to adhere to their schedules. Stressing the link between health and economic development, he encouraged commitment towards achieving the goals of Viksit Bharat and Swarnandhra Pradesh.
