GVMC Lifeguard Rescues Five Tourists at RK Beach
The tourists were administered first aid at the beach and were reported to be safe

VISAKHAPATNAM: Five tourists from Mushampalli village in Nalgonda district of Telangana state, were rescued after being swept into the sea by strong waves while bathing at RK Beach in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday morning.
According to Coastal Security Police Inspector S. Ramesh, the incident occurred at around 10.30 am when the tourists ventured into the sea and were pulled into deeper waters by strong currents. Unable to return to shore, they were spotted by lifeguards and marine police personnel on duty.
GVMC lifeguard M. Dhanraj immediately entered the water and, with the assistance of the marine police, rescued all five tourists and brought them safely to shore.
The tourists were administered first aid at the beach and were reported to be safe.
Officials commended the prompt response of the lifeguard and the marine police, saying their timely action averted a tragedy.
They also urged visitors to exercise caution while bathing at RK Beach, where strong currents and rough waves can pose a danger to swimmers.
