GVMC Elects 10 Standing Committee Members

Neelima Konathala secures the highest 58 votes

Visakhapatnam: Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) announced on Wednesday the election of 10 members to its standing committee.

Total 20 candidates contested the elections and 92 corporators cast their votes during the polling from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the GVMC Main Office Meeting Hall, under the supervision of additional commissioners D.V. Ramana Murthy and S.S. Varma.

GVMC commissioner Ketan Garg declared the results after counting of the votes polled.

The newly elected members of the GVMC standing committee are Neelima Konathala, who secured the highest number of 58 votes; Gankala Kavitha, Dadi Venkata Rameshwar Rao and Molli Hemalatha, each of them receiving 57 votes; Senapati Vasantha followed with 54 votes while Gedela (Bantubilli) Lavanya garnered 53 votes; Madamchetty Chinnatalli and Raparthi Triveni Varaprasadarao received 52 votes; Molli Mutyalu recorded 51 votes; and Saadi Padmavati (Padma Reddy) rounded off the list of the standing committee members with 50 votes.

Commissioner Garg congratulated the newly elected members.

GVMC secretary B.V. Ramana later presented certificates of election to the new standing committee members.
