Guntur Station Subway Shut Till June 30 for Works
Drainage upgrade works aim to tackle groundwater seepage and waterlogging.

Vijayawada: The pedestrian subway at Guntur Railway Station will remain closed from June 19 to 30 to facilitate drainage improvement works aimed at addressing groundwater seepage, announced South Coast Railway's Guntur division said on Thursday.
According to railway officials, the closure will enable expansion of the existing sump and execution of related works to improve drainage and prevent water accumulation in the subway, particularly during the monsoon.
Officials said the upgraded system would enhance the collection and pumping of seepage water, reducing waterlogging and improving passenger safety and convenience.
Passengers have been advised to use the available Foot Over Bridges (FOBs) and other designated crossing facilities during the closure.
The Guntur division appealed to passengers to cooperate with railway staff and follow the alternative arrangements.
