Kakinada:Power authorities have advised Vinayaka pandal organisers to utilise the free electricity supply being extended by the state government by adhering to the guidelines stipulated in this regard.
They have advised organisations and individuals to engage licensed linemen for wiring work and not resort to theft of power.
Authorities said those who have obtained permissions through the single window system are permitted to use electricity for free for nine days, starting from the Vinayaka Chavithi festival, with the limit being 5 KW in urban areas and 3 KW in rural areas. However, if the consumption exceeds these limits, organisers will be required to pay the bill for total usage. Free power supply will not be applicable for such cases.
Electricity officials will continuously monitor the power load during the festivities. They advised organisers to erect pandals at a safe distance from electrical poles, lines, and transformers. No part of the pandal must come in contact with live wires or electrical installations. Each pandal should have a dedicated earthing system, said AP TRANSCO Eluru district superintendent engineer K.M. Ambedkar.
Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district operation circle superintendent engineer B. Rajeswari appealed to the people to celebrate Vinayaka festivities at pandals with utmost caution to prevent any electrical accidents.
