Growing Demand Among Kapus for Pawan Kalyan as AP CM

He will become chief minister of Andhra Pradesh with the approval of people, says Nanaji

Kakinada:The demand that Jana Sena chief and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan should become the CM of Andhra Pradesh has been growing among Kapus.

The demand surfaced after Kapu leaders within the opposition YSR Congress Party declared that they would support Pawan Kalyan if he becomes the chief minister of the state. This, in turn, led to some Kapu Sanghams demanding that it is time that the ruling alliance parties made Pawan Kalyan as the chief minister.

Adding grist to the mill, Kakinada Rural MLA Pantham Venkateswara Rao (Nanaji), at a recent meeting, declared that Pawan Kalyan would become the chief minister with the approval of people and not through back doors.

Nanaji maintained that Pawan Kalyan has entered politics to uphold certain principles and do good to the people. He does not want to become the CM in a hurry/ “Pawan Kalyan would become the chief minister when he (Jana Sena chief) wants to,” the Kakinada Rural legislator stated. He maintained that right now, the alliance government is focusing on development of the state and its people.

Incidentally, Kapu Reservation Porata Samithi (KRPS) has held meetings at Tanuku and Amaravati recently in the name of “Kapu Galam.” The KRPS has passed a resolution demanding the alliance parties, especially Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu make Pawan Kalyan the CM of AP for the next two years.

The Kapu Reservation Porata Samithi contended that the NDA alliance came to power only after Pawan Kalyan rendered support to it.

Kapu Nadu chief adviser D.N. Ramesh maintained that the alliance government has not done much good to the Kapu community, though the NDA government had been formed in 2024. Ramesh wanted the chief ministership of AP to be given to Pawan Kalyan, so that he would extend benefits to the community.

The Kapu Nadu chief adviser declared that political parties should share posts and provide reservations as per the population of the various caste groups.
