Grand Dasara Festivities Conclude at Indrakeeladri, Draw Lakhs of Devotees

VIJAYAWADA: The 11-day grand Dasara festivities at Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam at Indrakeeladri concluded amid traditional fervour, drawing lakhs of devotees. The festivities, involving elaborate rituals and vibrant spiritual atmosphere, ended with Poornahuti on Vijaya Dasami on Thursday under the supervision of temple chief priest Vishnubhotla Shivaprasad Sharma.

The cumulative revenue the devasthanam received during Dasara 2025 is ₹5.49 crore, with tickets and prasadam sales forming the bulk of the proceeds. Laddu prasadam sales alone accounted for over ₹3.86 crore.

Vedic scholars performed sacred rituals like Kalasha Udvasana, marking the formal conclusion of the festivities. The deity appeared as Rajarajeswari Devi on the concluding Vijaya Dasami day. Those present included Endowments minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, commissioner K. Ramachandramohan and executive officer V.K. Seena Nayak.

Ramanarayana Reddy appreciated the temple staff for ensuring hassle-free darshan and accommodation for pilgrims. He underlined that the essence of Dasara lies in the worship of the supreme feminine power for removal of obstacles.

Priests chanted, “Ya Devi Sarva Bhuteshu Shakti Rupena Samsthita.” They expressed hope that Her divine presence would grant peace and prosperity to all.
