Govt Removes 2,074 Acres in Nandyal From Prohibited Land List

The orders were issued through GO No. 77 on Wednesday, effectively clearing long-pending issues faced by farmers in the region.

Kurnool:In a significant relief to farmers, the state government has issued orders removing 2,074.59 acres of land in Gootupalli village of Bethamcherla mandal in Nandyal district from the prohibited list under Section 22A. The orders were issued through GO No. 77 on Wednesday, effectively clearing long-pending issues faced by farmers in the region.

The lands, spread across 142 survey numbers in Gootupalli village under the Dhone Assembly constituency, had remained under the prohibited list for several years, preventing farmers from carrying out transactions and development activities.

Minority welfare and law minister N. Md. Farooq said the coalition government took the decision following repeated representations from farmers. “With this order, a long-standing issue affecting farmers has been permanently resolved,” he stated.

Farmers in the area had been facing difficulties due to restrictions on land registration and transactions. The removal of these lands from the prohibited category is expected to facilitate smooth land dealings and provide a major boost to agricultural and economic activities in the region.
