Govt Committed to Vizag Beach Road Makeover: Minister Nadendla

He said the alliance government was taking measures to develop infrastructure and sought the cooperation of local residents.

VIJAYAWADA: The state government is committed to upgrading public infrastructure along Visakhapatnam Beach Road and expediting Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) clearances to promote tourism and safeguard the coastline, minister Nadendla Manohar informed the Legislative Assembly on the final day of the Budget Session.

Replying during Question Hour on behalf of Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan, Manohar said public hearings on the Visakhapatnam Coastal Zone management plan, which had been postponed twice, would be conducted by the district collector on September 2.

He said the alliance government was taking measures to develop infrastructure and sought the cooperation of local residents.

Visakhapatnam South MLA Chintalapudi Vamsikrishna Yadav highlighted developmental disruptions along the Rushikonda-Bheemili stretch due to CRZ regulations.

Bheemili MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao called for simplification of CRZ regulations to balance environmental conservation and tourism development.

Visakhapatnam East MLA Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu urged the state government to pursue the reclassification of the designated coastal stretch from CRZ-3 to CRZ-2 to facilitate relaxed construction norms.
