Govt ‘Cheating’ Women on Free Bus Scheme: YSRC
She alleged that the government had betrayed women on the auspicious day of Sravan Sukravaram by going back on its poll promises.

Visakhapatnam: YSRC women’s wing president and MLC Varudu Kalyani on Saturday lashed out at the TD-led coalition government, accusing it of deceiving women with the much-publicised free bus travel scheme.
Speaking at a press meet in Visakhapatnam, Kalyani said the scheme was being touted as a super hit, but in reality, it was a “super flop” as it applied to only five categories of bus services out of the 16 services operated by the APSRTC.
She alleged that the government had betrayed women on the auspicious day of Sravan Sukravaram by going back on its poll promises. “If a woman wants to travel to Tirumala with the restricted services, she has to change as many as 15 buses, which shows the haphazard manner in which the state government is functioning,” she remarked.
Kalyani further said the situation was similar for women visiting many temples across the state, accusing the government of repeatedly cheating women.
