He commended the university for emerging as a centre of excellence in health sciences education and for its contribution to advancing healthcare in Andhra Pradesh and across the country.

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Governor and Chancellor of Dr NTR University of Health Sciences S. Abdul Nazeer on Tuesday called upon graduating healthcare professionals to uphold the highest standards of professional excellence, ethical conduct and compassionate service.

Addressing the 29th and 30th annual convocations of Dr NTR University of Health Sciences at Thummalapalli Kalakshetram in Vijayawada, the Governor described the occasion as a significant milestone marking the transition of students into responsible professionals entrusted with safeguarding human health and dignity.

He commended the university for emerging as a centre of excellence in health sciences education and for its contribution to advancing healthcare in Andhra Pradesh and across the country.

Nazeer observed that healthcare had become central to national development and referred to the country’s commitment to making healthcare accessible, affordable and equitable for all citizens.

“The true measure of success is not merely professional achievement but the compassion with which you serve, the integrity with which you act and the positive difference you make in the lives of others,” he said.

The Governor urged graduates to carry forward the legacy of former chief minister N.T. Rama Rao, whose life, he said, reflected an unwavering commitment to public welfare and human dignity.

He also welcomed the state government’s initiative to establish a Disease Modelling and Decision Intelligence Centre under the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme at the university.

Earlier, honorary Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) degrees were conferred on Dr C. Narasimhan, director of Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology Services at AIG Hospitals, Hyderabad, and Dr P.C. Rath, director and head of Cardiac Sciences at Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad, during the 29th and 30th convocations respectively.
