Governor Lauds Red Cross For Blood Donation And Disaster Relief Efforts

VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh Governor and Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) AP branch president S. Abdul Nazeer lauded the state and district branches of the IRCS for mobilising resources and undertaking activities such as blood donation drives and first aid training.
The Governor participated in the annual general meeting of the IRCS AP branch held at Tummalapalli Kshetrayya Kalakshetram on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, he appreciated the branches for extending support during disaster relief operations, including the setting up of special health camps and the involvement of volunteers in assisting flood victims of the Godavari and Krishna rivers.
The Governor called for the expansion of Thalassemia Blood Transfusion Centres and Red Cross Blood Banks in a phased manner to support underprivileged children suffering from thalassemia and sickle cell anaemia across the state.
