Governor Hosts ‘At Home’ Reception at Lok Bhavan

VIJAYAWADA: Governor S. Abdul Nazeer and First Lady Sameera Nazeer hosted the traditional ‘At Home’ reception at the Lok Bhavan lawns here on Saturday to mark the 80th Independence Day.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Andhra Pradesh High Court Chief Justice Lisa Gill, accompanied by their spouses, attended the reception. Ministers Kollu Ravindra and Nadendla Manohar were among the dignitaries present.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, who developed a high fever after attending Independence Day events, skipped the evening reception and travelled to Hyderabad for medical care and follow-up shoulder physiotherapy.
The reception was attended by MPs, MLAs, MLCs, judges of the Andhra Pradesh High Court, the Chief Information Commissioner and Information Commissioners of the AP Information Commission, Director General of Police, senior All India Service officers and political party leaders.
Vijayawada commissioner of police S.V. Rajasekhar Babu, defence personnel, sportspersons, meritorious students, Padma Award recipients, media representatives and freedom fighters also attended.
Health workers, representatives of non-governmental organisations and other special invitees were among those present.

The ‘At Home’ reception is traditionally hosted by the Governor on Independence Day and Republic Day as part of the official celebrations.
