Government Permits Tourism Boat Services To Papikondalu On Godavari
Tourism boat services from Gandi Pochamma Ferry Point to Papikondalu have resumed after authorities granted conditional permission with mandatory safety and communication measures.
Tourism boat services on the Godavari river from Gandi Pochamma Ferry Point to the popular tourist destination of Papikondalu resumed on Monday following permission from the authorities.
Rampachodavaram sub-collector D. Prudhvi Raj Kumar issued proceedings permitting the conditional resumption of boat operations, subject to safety norms. All boats must be registered and insured, carry life jackets for every passenger and be equipped with life-saving equipment. Operations have been restricted to between 9 am and 5.30 pm.
AP Tourism authorities have been directed to provide communication facilities, including walkie-talkies and satellite phones, and ensure uninterrupted communication among the control room, boat operators and concerned officials.
Boat services on the Godavari were suspended on August 1 following a rise in the river's water level.
