Gottipati Promises Power Staff Retirement Age Hike to 62

The assurance was given to a delegation of the power employees forum that met the minister here on Monday.

Vijayawada:Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar has assured power sector employees that the government would expedite implementation of its decision to enhance retirement age from 60 to 62.

The assurance was given to a delegation of the power employees forum that met the minister here on Monday.

The delegation submitted a memorandum seeking the immediate implementation of GO-Ms-45 across all power utilities.

They urged the minister to expedite the internal committee report so that the revised retirement age could be enforced without delay. The employee representatives said that although the government approved the proposal on June 23, there was delay in its implementation.

The delegation requested the minister to ensure that employees due for retirement this month are allowed to continue in service for two more years.

The minister assured the delegation that the implementation process would be accelerated.

The delegation comprised power employees forum president Gutta Villi Ramakrishnudu, general secretary Koteswara

Rao, vice-president Srinivasa Rao, secretary M Srinivasa Rao, and leaders Ramana Rao, YSR Prasad and Shiva Satyanarayana.
