Goods Train Coaches Detach Near Rayadurg in Anantapur District

Railway staff noticed the separation in time and immediately stopped the goods train, preventing any major mishap.

Anantapur: Panic prevailed briefly in Rayadurg town of Anantapur district after coaches of a goods train got detached while en route to the Jindal industrial unit at Toranagallu in Karnataka.

The goods train, carrying raw iron ore, had a total of 60 wagons. Railway officials said the coupling snapped near the sixth wagon, causing the locomotive to move ahead for nearly two kilometres, leaving several wagons behind.
Railway staff noticed the separation in time and immediately stopped the goods train, preventing any major mishap. After nearly two hours of effort, the detached wagons were successfully reconnected to the locomotive.
