CM Naidu Reviews Akhanda Godavari Pushkaralu 2027 Preparations

In a review meeting conducted with officials on Tuesday, the Chief Minister suggested branding the festival as “Akhanda Godavari Pushkaralu” and involving local communities in its organisation. The 12-day Pushkaralu will be held from June 26 to July 7, 2027. Officials estimate that 8–10 crore devotees may participate, compared with around 4.86 crore during the 2015 Maha Pushkaralu.

Noting that only 10 months remain for the Pushkarams, he said all works should be started expeditiously and completed on time. He made it clear that there should be no compromise on quality. Officials informed the Chief Minister that the Finance Department has already allocated Rs 899 crore for these works. Most of the works pertain to Urban Development, R&B, Water Resources, Power and Panchayat Raj departments.Of these, 1,869 works are being taken up in East Godavari district, 625 in West Godavari, 1,501 in Konaseema, 426 in Eluru, 321 in Kakinada and 190 in Polavaram district. The CM suggested that officials should focus on mobilizing funds required for completion of these works and also seek Central assistance.

The government has planned 4,932 works worth ₹4,026 crore, of which ₹899 crore has already been allocated. A total of 440 bathing ghats will be readied, including the development of 259 existing ghats and construction of 181 new ones across six Godavari-region districts.

Naidu asked officials to ensure clean river water, pothole-free roads, improved bridges, sanitation, drinking water, accommodation and medical facilities. He also proposed developing a temple tourism circuit linking Pithapuram, Annavaram, Dwaraka Tirumala, Antarvedi and other major shrines.

AI-based crowd analytics, CCTV monitoring, drone surveillance and QR-based vehicle identification will be used for security and crowd management.

Authorities will deploy 30 temporary field hospitals, 2,697 rescue boats and 8,955 trained swimmers. Around 487 green-energy buses will also be operated.
