Godavari Districts Pay Tributes To Murali Naik

Many offered prayers at temples and observed two minutes of silence in memory of the fallen soldier.

Kakinada:People across the erstwhile Godavari districts paid rich tributes to soldier Murali Naik, who sacrificed his life in the India–Pakistan war, and expressed solidarity with the Indian Armed Forces and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday. Many offered prayers at temples and observed two minutes of silence in memory of the fallen soldier.

Tourism minister Kandula Durgesh, participating in a tribute event at Rajamahendravaram, said the nation would never forget the sacrifice of Murali Naik. He praised the Prime Minister for taking bold steps to counter hostile forces, adding that the Prime Minister is projecting a strong and courageous image of India, not only to Pakistan but to the world. Despite diverse cultures, traditions, and languages, the people stand united behind the soldiers, he said.

A two-minute silence was also observed to honour all soldiers martyred in Pakistani attacks and civilians killed in terrorist incidents. East Godavari district collector P. Prashanthi and other officials were present.

In Bhimavaram, people held a procession from Addavanthena to the Ratan Tata statue, expressing solidarity with the armed forces and honouring soldiers, including Murali Naik. Deputy Speaker of the Assembly K. Raghu Ramakrishnam Raju, Bhimavaram MLA Pulaparthi Ramanjaneyulu, and West Godavari district collector C. Nagarani participated. Raghu Ramakrishnam Raju wore an Army uniform and carried the national flag alongside other participants, who raised slogans in support of India, the armed forces and the Prime Minister.

BJP leaders and workers offered special poojas at the Someswara Swamy Temple and performed abhishekam with 125 litres of milk. They also performed kumkum poojas to Goddess Mavulamma. Rajya Sabha member P. Satyanarayana and other leaders were present. In Kadiyam, locals paid floral tributes to the soldiers who lost their lives in the war.
