GGH Anantapur To Get Waiting Halls
In the first phase, two halls will be constructed on the ground floor -- one for men and one for women.- MP Ambika Lakshminarayana

ANANTAPUR: MP Ambika Lakshminarayana has allotted `75 lakhs from her MPLADS funds to construct two waiting halls at Government General Hospital Anantapur. A Bhumi Puja for it was held on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Lakshminarayana recalled that during previous visits to the GGH he noticed the families of patients had no place to wait during treatment.
Local MLA Daggupati Venkateswara Prasad, Anantapur-Hindupur Urban Development Authority chairman T.C. Varun, Telugu Desam Parliamentary segment in-charge Venkata Shivudu Yadav, GGH superintendent Dr. Venkateswar Rao and regional medical officer Dr. Hemalatha attended the Bhumi Puja.
“As the 500-bed hospital has huge rush, we noticed the family-attendants were taking shelter under trees and open spaces outside. The decision to construct waiting halls was taken during a recent Hospital Development Committee meeting,” the MP said.
In the first phase, two halls will be constructed on the ground floor -- one for men and one for women.
Patients from Anantapur, Satya Sai, Kadapa and even Karnataka visit this hospital.
