Gear Up To Win Every Local Body Seat, Naidu Tells TD Cadre

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed the Telugu Desam leaders and workers to strengthen grassroots activity and work towards securing victory in every local body seat across the state.

TIRUPATI: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed the Telugu Desam leaders and workers to strengthen grassroots activity and work towards securing victory in every local body seat across the state.

Addressing party leaders and workers during the third day of his Kuppam constituency tour, Naidu said the TD-led alliance would win municipalities and other local bodies. He advised the cadre to maintain a strong connection with people and ensure that the coalition's performance in the local body election reflects public confidence in the government.

Launching a sharp attack on the previous YSRC government, Naidu described the 2019-24 period as a nightmare for the state and alleged that the then rulers had attempted to disturb peace even in Kuppam. He cautioned party workers to remain alert against the alleged conspiracies of the YSRC and asserted that rowdyism would not be tolerated in the constituency.

The chief minister said effective coordination between the party and the government was necessary to strengthen governance at the grassroots level. He said political governance should not be confined to the higher levels and asked TD leaders and workers to work closely with officials and police to resolve public issues.

Naidu said party workers should explain ground-level problems to officials and help find solutions. The government machinery should cooperate with those working for the welfare of poor people and respect leaders and workers who stand by public causes.

He asked the cadre to regularly monitor implementation of government welfare schemes and take responsibility for addressing delays or difficulties faced by beneficiaries. He said charitable activities should be carried out through the NTR Trust, while political activities should be taken forward through the party.

Stressing discipline among the cadres, Naidu said TD leaders and workers have earned recognition in society and should avoid actions that could harm the party’s reputation. He made it clear that party posts would be based only on performance and there would be no favouritism in appointments.

Expressing confidence about the 2029 elections, Naidu said the party would return to power with bigger majorities and asked the cadre to work towards that goal. Efforts were being made for the economic empowerment of party workers, he said, and urged them to benefit from the government’s “One Entrepreneur in Every Household” initiative.

The chief minister also instructed party workers to carry out the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) programme properly as per party guidelines and announced that a coordination committee would be formed in Kuppam after taking everyone’s consent.
