Gas Leaks From Train Tanker, Several Trains Halted
Fire service personnel and Railway Protection Force were present to take preventive measures.

Visakhapatnam: Tense situation prevailed in Tilaru station in Srikakulam district under Waltair division when gas started leaking from one of the tankers of a goods train carrying gas loads to Howrah from HPCL refinery in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday evening.
The goods train was immediately stopped and railway authorities informed HPCL authorities. A team of technical personnel rushed to the spot and is trying to plug the leak, when the last reports came in.
A railway official said if the gas was not plugged, it would be detached from the train and allowed to proceed.
He said as a precautionary measure, eight passenger trains on both the directions were halted at Vizianagaram, Doosi, Srikakulam Road and Palasa from 7 pm to 7.30 pm. Later they were allowed to go, he said.
Fire service personnel and Railway Protection Force were present to take preventive measures. Waltair divisional railway manager Lalith Bohra supervised the food arrangements for the passengers on the stranded trains.
The goods train comprised 40 wagons, all carrying gas from the HPCL refinery.
