Vijayawada: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday expressed confidence that with Lord Ganesha’s grace, Andhra Pradesh will continue on its path of peace, prosperity and development.
On the day, the CM performed special pooja and prayed to the 72-feet eco-friendly Maha Ganapati at the Sitara Centre in Vijayawada. “Ganesh Chaturthi has always been close to my heart. From childhood, our family has celebrated it with great devotion. Just as the Doondi Ganesh Seva Samithi is celebrating the festival on a grand scale at the Sitara Centre, we too celebrated in a great manner,” Chandrababu Naidu recalled.
He described Ganesh Chaturthi as a unifying festival celebrated with devotion and enthusiasm across the country. “It not only strengthens faith but promotes unity and collective spirit,” he observed.
The Chief Minister stated that in the past, people faced hurdles when celebrating Ganesh Utsav. Even installing a mike required endless permissions. “With the coming of people’s government, we have removed such restrictions. To facilitate smooth celebrations, we have decided to supply free power to all pandals at a cost of ₹30 crore,” he underlined.
Asserting that Andhra Pradesh is witnessing growth unseen elsewhere in the country, Chandrababu Naidu highlighted the government’s welfare and Swachh Andhra initiatives. He pointed out that the Swachh programmes are organised every third Saturday of a month to strengthen cleanliness everywhere in the state. He mentioned that circular economy practices are being adopted to improve waste management.
The CM said, “With the grace of the rain god, all reservoirs are brimming with water this season. Recalling the 2024 Budameru floods, he maintained that the state government acted swiftly to safeguard citizens. It is now taking permanent measures to prevent the recurrence of floods.
Naidu congratulated the Doondi Ganesh Seva Samithi members for erecting the state’s tallest eco-friendly clay idol. He appreciated the organisers’ decision to immerse the idol at the same venue. “This is a very thoughtful initiative that sets an example,” he remarked.
The Chief Minister declared that the state government will be celebrating the Godavari Pushkaralu in a big way.
