Ganesh Idols Immersed Peacefully Across Kurnool, Nandyal
Ganesha idol immersion was conducted in a grand manner across major towns in Kurnool and Nandyal districts on Sunday, marking the conclusion of the five-day Ganesha celebrations.

Kurnool: Ganesha idol immersion was conducted in a grand manner across major towns in Kurnool and Nandyal districts on Sunday, marking the conclusion of the five-day Ganesha celebrations. The event was organised in towns including Nandyal, Allagadda, Atmakur, Dhone and Mahanandi of Nandyal district, as well as Adoni, Kodumur and Gudur in Kurnool district.
To ensure law and order during the processions, elaborate security arrangements were made. Around 800 police personnel, including special party teams, were deployed in Adoni, where the Hindu and Muslim populations are nearly equal. In Nandyal, 850 police personnel were on duty. The security operation was supervised by Kurnool SP Vikrant Patil and Nandyal SP Adhiraj Singh Rana.
The streets of these towns echoed with chants of “Ganapathi Bappa Moriya” as thousands of devotees participated in the immersion rallies. In total, nearly 1,500 Ganesha idols had been installed across the towns, where devotees offered prayers over the past five days.
The immersion programme in Adoni was formally launched by MLA P.V. Parthasarathi at Rampuram pond, and processions continued from morning until late evening. In Nandyal, the programme was launched by Minister N.M.D. Farooq, along with district collector G. Rajakumari and SP Adhiraj Singh Rana. Here too, nearly 1,500 idols were immersed peacefully with the participation of large crowds.
The celebrations passed off without any untoward incidents, with police ensuring smooth and safe completion of the event.
