Free land title registration in Mangalagiri from next week: Lokesh
Lokesh said Rs 300 crore would be allocated for the construction of a major retaining wall

Vijayawada: Education Minister Nara Lokesh has declared that land title registration for housing plots will be done free of cost to housing beneficiaries in his Mangalagiri constituency from next week. The beneficiaries would have the right to sell these land titles after two years, he said on Friday.
The minister was speaking at the Mana Illu–Mana Lokesh programme at the Don Bosco School in Mangalagiri. On the fourth day of the initiative, he distributed permanent house site pattas to 1,030 economically disadvantaged families, including 430 families from the Tadepalli Mahanadu area.
Lokesh outlined a wide range of welfare and development initiatives undertaken in the region, including free medical services under the NTR Sanjeevani scheme, vocational training for women, job creation and promotion of sports through the Mangalagiri Premier League. A total of 26 welfare programmes have been rolled out in Mangalagiri, he stated.
He said the foundation for the proposed 100-bed hospital would be laid on April 13. The hospital would be ready in a year. Additionally, plans include improvements in underground drainage, water pipelines, power and gas supply, and the development of the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple.
Lokesh said Rs 300 crore would be allocated for the construction of a major retaining wall. Parks are being developed across several wards, with work on six new parks under way and the SLN Park already inaugurated. Out of 31 proposed community buildings, land has been identified for 17 and construction is nearing completion on two.
The minister called for a transparent and corruption-free process of allocating house sites- a stark contrast to the past when people spent thousands on applications and documentation without results. “We measured lands swiftly, brought a policy through the cabinet and are fulfilling promises without delay,” he said and urged the beneficiaries not to sell their plots. “Mangalagiri is on a path to becoming one of the cleanest and most developed cities in India.”
