Four Youths Arrested in Ganja Smuggling Attempt

Bheemili police and Task Force seized narcotics during an intelligence-based operation.

Visakhapatnam: Bheemili police, in coordination with the Task Force, arrested four youths for allegedly attempting to sell ganja in the coastal town of Bheemili on Friday. Around two kilograms of ganja were seized from their possession during a special inspection drive conducted based on intelligence inputs regarding the transportation and sale of narcotic substances in the city.

According to police, the joint teams were conducting checks in the Bheemili area when they noticed four youths moving under suspicious circumstances. The suspects were detained and questioned. During a search of their bags, police recovered approximately two kilograms of ganja that was allegedly meant for sale.

The arrested individuals were identified as Jondi Akhil, 30; Vasupalli Jitesh, 27, Sai Kumar, 27, and Chenna Teja Suji, 20.

Probe revealed that the accused had allegedly planned to sell the contraband to youth and students in and around Krishna Colony in Bheemili. Police suspect that the group was operating as part of a larger network involved in the illegal distribution of narcotics.

A case has been registered against the accused, and further investigation is underway.
