Four-Day AP Assembly Session Schedule Finalised; Group-I Recruitment Row on Aug 19

The BAC resolved that the Group-I issue would be discussed comprehensively without restricting the debate to a fixed time.

Vijayawada:The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly will meet for four days, with the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) finalising the schedule at a meeting chaired by Speaker Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu on Monday.

The BAC decided to table the report on reservations for Backward Classes (BCs) in the Assembly on Tuesday. It also decided to take up a detailed discussion on the Group-I recruitment process conducted during the previous YSRC government on Wednesday, August 19.

The BAC resolved that the Group-I issue would be discussed comprehensively without restricting the debate to a fixed time.

The decision comes amid allegations and counter-allegations over the recruitment process undertaken during the previous government.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, finance minister Payyavula Keshav, legislative affairs minister Nandendla Manohar, BJP MLA Vishnu Kumar Raju and Chief Whip G.V. Anjaneyulu attended the BAC meeting.
