Former Dy CM Amjad Basha's brother detained at Mumbai airport
The YSRC leader is accused of involvement in land encroachment cases, and also indecent posts on rival party leaders on social media

Kadapa YSRC leader and former deputy chief minister Amjad Basha's brother Ahmed Basha was arrested on Sunday at Mumbai airport when he was on way to Kuwait. The Immigration officials took into custody and handed him over to Kadapa police.
In 2022, Ahmed Basha and his supporters attacked on Mushtaq Ahmed in connection with a land dispute at Vinayak Nagar in Kadapa. Though the incident became sensational, the YSRC government provided immunity to him.
Since the TD coalition government assumed power, Ahmed Basha had been fearing arrest and hiding in Dubai.
On the occasion of Ramzan, he came to Kadapa and was returning when the police took him into custody.
There are several cases against Ahmed Basha in Kadapa police station.
Last year, the Chinna Chowk police served notices to Ahmed Basha. Cases were also registered following allegations of involvement in posting indecent posts on social media against Speaker Ayyannapatrudu, Home minister Anitha, Kadapa MLA Madhava Reddy. However, he failed to appear before the police despite being summoned.
There are allegations that he threatens his rivals and is involved in a several land encroachment cases in Kadapa.
