Five of Family Found Dead at Vaddera Satram in Srisailam

Preliminary inquiries revealed that the family had been staying at Vaddera Satram for the past one month.

Srisailam: Five members of a family were found dead in Room No. 12 of Vaddera Satram in Srisailam. According to preliminary reports, two members were found hanging in the hall, while three women were found dead in the bathroom.

The deceased were identified as Pallapu Sudhakar, Malleswari, Sridevi, Adilakshmi and Mani, residents of Bathalapalle in Sri Sathya Sai district.

The incident reportedly took place two days ago but came to light later. Satram officials noticed a foul smell emanating from one of the rooms and checked the premises. They found the bodies in Room No. 12 and immediately alerted the police.

DSP Ranjaneyulu reached the spot and inspected the scene. Srisailam police registered a case and launched an investigation.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Sudhakar allegedly took the extreme step along with his three sisters and his brother-in-law.

According to the police, Sudhakar had reportedly borrowed around Rs. 1 crore from several people in Battalapalli in the past. He faced financial difficulties after being unable to repay the loans. He later returned and was working as an auto-rickshaw driver. Police said he had also previously served as the leader of an auto-rickshaw stand union.

Police suspect that family and financial problems may have driven them to take the extreme step. Two of Sudhakar’s sisters had reportedly been abandoned by their husbands, while another sister remained unmarried. However, the exact circumstances and motive behind the deaths are yet to be established.

Meanwhile, relatives said that Sridevi, one of the deceased, had suffered a stroke, following which all the family members had gone to Virupakshapuram for her treatment about a month ago. From there, the five reportedly travelled together to Srisailam and took a room at the Vaddera Satram. Relatives said that when they contacted the family members over the phone, they told them that they were in Srisailam.
