Five-Day TTD Rituals For Timely Rains Conclude With Maha Purnahuti
TTD’s five-day Kari Rishti Yagam, Varuna Japam and Parjanya Shanti Homams concluded at Tirumala’s Dharmagiri Veda Vignana Peetham.
The five-day Kari Rishti Yagam, Varuna Japam and Parjanya Shanti Homams conducted by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) at the Dharmagiri Veda Vignana Peetham concluded with Maha Purnahuti on Thursday.
Dharmagiri Veda Vignana Peetham principal Kuppa Siva Subrahmanya Avadhani recited the Kari Rishti, Varuna Japam and Parjanya Shanti mantras during the rituals.
He said the rituals were conducted as part of a tradition observed for several decades, seeking timely and favourable rains across the country and the welfare of people.
The rituals were also aimed at praying for relief from excessive and deficient rainfall and for good crops, Avadhani said. The rituals were conducted over five days with the participation of 32 Ritwiks and concluded with the Maha Purnahuti on Thursday.
TTD executive officer Muddada Ravichandra, additional executive officer Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary, trust board members Panabaka Lakshmi, Bhanu Prakash Reddy and Shantha Ram, along with teachers and students of the Veda Vignana Peetham, participated in the programme.
