TTD Chairman Naidu stated that the request for land allotment was made under the instructions of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, who directed TTD to initiate the process for building Srivari temples across the country, including Guwahati.

Tirupati: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Chairman B.R. Naidu on Friday met Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati and formally requested the allotment of five acres of land for the construction of Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple in the city. The request was made as part of the TTD efforts to establish a Srivari temple in the northeastern region.

Responding to the appeal, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma assured that five acres of land would be allotted for the construction of the temple. He conveyed that the Assam government would extend all possible assistance for building a grand temple of Lord Venkateswara in the state capital.

TTD Chairman Naidu stated that the request for land allotment was made under the instructions of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, who directed TTD to initiate the process for building Srivari temples across the country, including Guwahati.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his gratitude to Chandrababu Naidu, the AP government, and the TTD Board for deciding to construct a Srivari temple in Guwahati. He also explained the religious significance of the famous Kamakhya Temple located in the city.

The Chief Minister said that the proposed temple, to be built under the auspices of TTD, would help promote the protection of Hindu dharma, traditions, and values. He expressed hope that the presence of Lord Venkateswara through this temple would spiritually benefit the people of Northeast India.

Chairman Naidu said Professor Dr. G.V.R. Shastri, National General Secretary of the Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha, based in New Delhi, played a prominent role in facilitating this initiative. “With the land allotment assured, the groundwork has been laid for the construction of a Srivari temple in Guwahati under the supervision of TTD and with the cooperation of the Assam government”, he stated.
