Visakhapatnam: A fire broke out on Friday morning at the Steel Melting Shop-2 (SMS-2) of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, causing disruption to production. The blaze damaged several cables and machinery before firefighters arrived at the scene and began efforts to bring the situation under control.
According to plant officials, an oil leak in Machine-2 was identified as the cause of the fire. Sparks reportedly ignited the leaked oil, which then spread to nearby cables and machinery.
Firefighting operations are ongoing.
