Filmmaker Vinod Rajendra Releases ‘Cinema Consciousness’

Moving away from conventional narratives centred on fame and commercial success, the book explores cinema as a lived experience that shapes perception, memory and daily routines.

ANANTAPUR: Filmmaker Vinod Rajendra from Hindupur in Sri Sathya Sai district has authored a book titled Cinema Consciousness, offering a reflective perspective on the role of cinema in everyday life.

Moving away from conventional narratives centred on fame and commercial success, the book explores cinema as a lived experience that shapes perception, memory and daily routines.
Vinod, known for his work in short films and documentaries such as Change, Arani, After Effects and Arangetram, and for his involvement in Guinness World Record projects like Lepakshi, draws on his background in engineering, journalism and industrial psychology.
The book examines how cinema influences individuals through subtle experiences, including childhood memories, routine life and everyday spaces, rather than through spectacle alone.
Speaking about the work, Vinod said the idea was to understand how cinema becomes part of life beyond ambition or theory. He added that the essence of film lies in its ability to shape perception and deepen engagement with ordinary experiences.
Cinema Consciousness is currently available on major e-commerce platforms. Vinod is also preparing to release a short story anthology titled Your Mind is Rigged.
