Fever Grips Many Inmates Of Remote Tribal Hamlet In Anakapalli District
Villagers have appealed to authorities to immediately organise a medical camp at the village, before it spreads among the children in the hamlet.

Visakhapatnam: Fever has spread in several households in Pitri Gadda, a remote hamlet of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) Kondhu tribal community in Arla panchayat in Rolugunta mandal of Anakapalli district.
The hamlet consists of 12 tribal families.
Villagers say nearly every household has two children suffering from severe fevers and related ailments.
Most of the students are staying away from school.
Members of Marri Sanyasi Rao's family include Jyothi, Santhoshi, Deena, Kamesh, and Chilakamma.
They are said to be suffering from fever and other health complications.
The family rears livestock and is struggling to access medical treatment.
Reaching the nearest Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Buchimpeta is difficult for them.
Patients have to be first carried for several kilometres in a traditional doli because there is no motorable road.
They have to be then transported by auto-rickshaw from Arla to the Buchimpeta PHC.
Villagers said not enough people are available to carry patients to safety.
Villagers have appealed to authorities to immediately organise a medical camp at the village, before it spreads among the children in the hamlet.
Residents charge that despite assurances of a road to the hamlet under the “Palle Pandaga” programme, their village remains cut off.
Lack of road connectivity has made it difficult to access emergency medical care.
Edula Srinu, district leader of the PVTG Association, and tribal leader E. Chiranjeevi have demanded that district authorities immediately organise a medical camp at Pitri Gadda and provide medicines to the ailing.
They wanted officials to address the long-pending road connectivity to the village.
