NELLORE: The Andhra Pradesh Airports Development Corporation has invited tenders to prepare a feasibility report for the proposed Ongole Airport, following the efforts of Ongole MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy.
Responding to Magunta’s initiative, a central team of aviation experts, along with state officials, recently inspected a proposed site located between Alluru and Aluru villages, near Ongole town.
After conducting a detailed assessment in Delhi, the team assured that a final report on the viability of establishing an airport at the identified location would be submitted soon.
On 8 July 2025, the Corporation issued a notification seeking consultants to prepare the feasibility report. Interested firms have been invited to submit their proposals by 29 July 2025.
MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy stated that once the final feasibility report is received, the government will take a decision on proceeding with the airport construction.
