Farmers Continue Volunteering For Expanded Amaravati Land Pooling, Says Narayana

Narayana assured farmers that the government will ensure a transparent process of acquisition in which contributors of land will face no inconvenience while receiving all statutory benefits.

VIJAYAWADA: Farmers are continuing to voluntarily come forward to participate in the additional land pooling for key projects planned as part of Capital Amaravati’s expansion, Municipal Administration and Urban Development minister P. Narayana asserted on Monday.

“This is indicative of confidence returned among stakeholders with regard to development of Amaravati as the sole capital,” the minister underlined.

Speaking to media after inaugurating a newly constructed BT road in Vaddamanu, one of the Amaravati capital villages, he said additional land pooling is being undertaken for major infrastructure projects, including the inner ring road, an international sports city and new railway lines.

Narayana assured farmers that the government will ensure a transparent process of acquisition in which contributors of land will face no inconvenience while receiving all statutory benefits.

Area MLA Tenali Sravan Kumar welcomed formation of the new Vaddamanu road. The minister recalled that during his interaction with farmers of Vaddamanu village on December 10, residents had sought immediate construction of a proper road. Acting swiftly on the request, the government has completed the BT road within just a week, a rare instance of prompt governance.

Narayana said in a renewed push for infrastructure creation in Amaravati, detailed project reports (DPRs) have been prepared for works worth ₹900 crore, aimed at upgrading basic amenities across all villages within the capital. These include internal roads, street lighting, underground drainage systems and storm-water canals. He assured these works would begin next month and completed by end of June

Launching a political broadside, the minister said leaders of the YSR Congress are making unrealistic claims about returning to power. He maintained that the opposition party will not be able to retain even its current 11 seats in the next elections.

Reiterating the government’s commitment to rebuilding Amaravati as a vibrant, world-class capital, the minister declared that the pace of execution seen in Vaddamanu will be replicated across all capital villages.
