Family Seeks Swift Action In Gayathri Death
Sudhakar told the media that the SDM heard their grievances for over an hour, expressed his condolences and assured them that a comprehensive inquiry would be initiated. He also advised the family to meet the District Magistrate and assured them of his support in ensuring a fair investigation

Visakhapatnam: The family of deceased software professional Parupudi Radha Gayathri met Mussoorie Sub-Divisional Magistrate Rahul Anand, urging him to expedite the investigation into her death and arrest her husband, Sricharan Somayajula, against whom a murder case has been registered.
Gayathri's father, P. Sudhakar, an ex-Army personnel, accompanied by other family members, submitted a detailed representation outlining the sequence of events leading to his daughter's death and raising concerns over what they described as suspicious circumstances.
Sudhakar told the media that the SDM heard their grievances for over an hour, expressed his condolences and assured them that a comprehensive inquiry would be initiated. He also advised the family to meet the District Magistrate and assured them of his support in ensuring a fair investigation.
The family said the SDM also agreed to record the statement of Gayathri's mother, Satyavathi, through video conferencing at the earliest.
Radha Gayathri, a fund account manager working in Gurugram, married Pune-based Deloitte consultant Sricharan Somayajula in November 2025. She was found dead at a homestay on the Mussoorie-Dhanaulti Road on June 15 while the couple were on holiday.
The family has alleged that Gayathri was subjected to harassment, surveillance and controlling behaviour during the marriage, including the alleged use of a tracking device and constant monitoring. They also questioned her husband's account of the events preceding her death and rejected claims that she had consumed alcohol.
Following representations made by the family, the Uttarakhand Police registered a murder case against Sricharan Somayajula under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita on June 20 and appointed a new investigating officer. The family further alleged that Sricharan has since remained unavailable to investigators and demanded his immediate arrest.
Appealing to the Uttarakhand administration, police and Deloitte management, the family called for a thorough, impartial and time-bound investigation, expressing hope that the truth behind Gayathri's death would be established and justice delivered.
