VISAKHAPATNAM: Union minister for civil aviation Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu on Friday said long-pending demands of Srikakulam residents for additional halts for express trains had finally been fulfilled.
He said the Railway Ministry had approved new halts for the Puri–Ahmedabad Express at Ichchapuram, Berhampur–Visakhapatnam Express at Tilaru, and the Bhubaneswar–Visakhapatnam New Express at Baruva. Orders have been issued and implementation will begin shortly.
In a post on X, Rammohan Naidu said he had consistently pursued the issue keeping public interest in mind. He thanked Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and officials for responding positively, calling the decision an important step for the development of Srikakulam district.
