Exhumation Ordered in Proddatur Electrocution Death

Police have ordered the exhumation of a man’s body in Proddatur after his wife sought a post-mortem to determine the exact cause of his alleged electrocution death.

Police have initiated the process of exhuming the body of a man who was allegedly buried without a post-mortem after his death due to electrocution earlier this month in Proddatur mandal.

Chennaiah, 46, a resident of Dorasanipalle village, reportedly died on July 3 after suffering an electric shock. His family performed the last rites without conducting an autopsy.

Subsequently, his wife, Lakshmidevi, approached the Proddatur Rural police seeking a post-mortem to ascertain the exact cause of death.

Acting on her complaint, the police initiated steps to exhume the body and conduct the autopsy.

Confirming the development, Proddatur Rural sub-inspector Raju said, “We have taken up the matter based on a complaint from the deceased's wife. Necessary arrangements are being made for exhumation, and a medical team will conduct the post-mortem at the site.”

Police said further investigation will proceed based on the findings of the post-mortem report.
