Excise Wing Earns Revenue of Rs 29,042 Crore in 2025–26 in Andhra Pradesh
Kollu Ravindra holds review meeting

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh excise department earned a revenue of Rs 29,042 crore in 2025-26.
Excise minister Kollu Ravindra chaired a high level review meeting with senior officials here on Friday. He said there should be no compromise on enforcement, transparency and quality even though the department was a revenue- generating one.
He asked excise principal secretary Mukesh Kumar Meena to closely monitor field operations and to ensure strict compliance with the norms at all levels. He cautioned that any lapse in the enforcement or delay would be viewed seriously.
The minister appreciated the department’s success in achieving Rs 29,042 crore revenue despite facing some financial setbacks like losses including Rs 436 crore due to a reduction in price of Rs 99 (180 ml) for IMFL, Rs 972 crore in reduction of prices of popular brands and also with the absence of Rs 1,900 crore in application fees.
Ravindra ordered frequent inspections at permit rooms, liquor shops, bars and in-house establishments to prevent adulteration and illegal sales. There be zero tolerance for any violations. Officials must prepare and implement SOPs for random sampling of IMFL and foreign liquor to ensure maintenance of quality standards across the state, he said.
