Police sources said Ahmed Basha will be produced before the Kadapa Court on Monday. The YSRC leader had not been residing in Kadapa for the past few months after the TD-led coalition government assumed power in Andhra Pradesh.

ANANTAPUR: Kadapa police on Sunday arrested former deputy chief minister Amzad Basha’s brother S.B. Ahmed Basha of the YSRC party at the Mumbai Airport while the latter had been on way to Kuwait.
The arrest follows a complaint by Kadapa MLA Madhavi Reddy that Ahmed Basha had abused her and other TDP leaders including TD politburo member Srinivasa Reddy, apart from attacking land owners in a property dispute.
Following the MLA’s complaint, Kadapa police registered against the YSRC leader and issued a lookout notice for Ahmed Basha.
The YSRC leader had been heading to Kuwait when immigration authorities detained him at Mumbai Airport. They informed Kadapa police, who rushed to Mumbai Airport and took Ahmed Basha into their custody.
Police sources said Ahmed Basha will be produced before the Kadapa Court on Monday. The YSRC leader had not been residing in Kadapa for the past few months after the TD-led coalition government assumed power in Andhra Pradesh.
There are two other election-related cases pending with the Kadapa police.
