ESIC Floats ₹134-Crore Tender For Nellore Hospital

Mandaviya directed the ESIC Director General to initiate the tender process: Reports

NELLORE: The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has floated a ₹134-crore tender for the construction of a 100-bed ESI hospital in Nellore, marking a major step towards providing quality healthcare to workers and their families in the region.

The tender notification was issued on October 12 through the Central government’s e-procurement portal. Bids can be submitted until noon on November 3 and will be opened at noon on November 4.
Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy has been pursuing the project since August 2024 through representations to the district administration and Union Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.

On August 3, 2026, the MP, along with Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, met Mandaviya in New Delhi and urged him to expedite the tender process. The MP informed the Union Minister that land had been earmarked for the hospital and an additional acre allocated for staff quarters.

Responding to the request, Mandaviya directed the ESIC Director General to initiate the tender process, paving the way for the latest development. The proposed hospital is expected to improve access to medical care for workers and their families, particularly those in the unorganised sector. The MP thanked the Union government for advancing the project.
