Ensures Healthy Environment in Eat Street: VMC Chief Dhyanachandra

Vijayawada: Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) commissioner H.M. Dhyanachandra has emphasised the importance of maintaining a healthy environment in the city’s food courts and eat street. He visited various locations, including Vemula Shyamala Road, Eat Street, and Singh Nagar, on Wednesday to assess ground conditions.
During his visit, the commissioner instructed officials to ensure impeccable sanitation management in eat street, a popular hub for food lovers. He stressed the need for continuous supervision to maintain hygiene and directed authorities to regularly remove waste and apply disinfectants as necessary.
Following this, Dhyanachandra inspected the Singh Nagar Anna Canteen, where he interacted with the public to assess food quality. He conducted a thorough inspection of the kitchen's cleanliness and emphasised the importance of maintaining a steady supply of drinking and utility water.
He further instructed all nodal officers to monitor their respective Anna canteens daily and address any deficiencies promptly. They were also directed to carry out necessary repairs without delay.
APSCPCR members review preparations for Class 10 exams
Andhra Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSCPCR) member Gondu Sitaram reviewed preparations for the Class 10 examinations at the district education officer’s office. The exams are scheduled from March 17 to 31.
District Education Officer N. Prem Kumar reported that 28,515 students from 106 government and 448 private schools will appear for the exams. The review covered arrangements at examination centres, including power backup and transport for students from remote areas.
Sitaram emphasised that no student should miss their exams due to logistical issues and stressed the need for medical camps at centres. Prem Kumar assured that all arrangements would comply with APSCPCR guidelines and be coordinated with government departments.
